Amazeballs!

I know that some of you weren't Buffy the Vampire Slayer Fans. Some of you know it was a silly movie starring the fabulous Oscar worthy, Kristy Swanson. (just kidding) But it was also an awesome show by the fabulous Joss Whedon, starring the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar.

If you liked the show, you'll see why I was so excited when Melissa just emailed it to me! If you aren't familiar with the show, you'll still enjoy the recap of pictures from past seasons:)

I wish I has the free time that some people out there do to make things like this!

"ille qui nos omnes servabit"

So many of you are so kind and complementary- you enjoy the blog you tell me, you email me back and tell me what you liked- please comment then! I only have seven episodes left to blog about, so you would make me ever so happy if you would leave your compliment, or your comment here! Blog-ettiquette says you should "delurk" and comment. You can do it! Alison figured it out:) or maybe I finally unlocked all the right things.

Let's get down to business- I've been wondering:

Are Jacob and the Smoke Monster brothers? I keep thinking about biblical brothers like Jacob and Esau (how many of you read Katherine Paterson's Jacob Have I Loved?) Have you noticed that we don't know the Smoke Monster's real name? Jacob was the golden beloved one, and Esau the unloved. Remind you of our two eternal island dwellers?

The island is a cork that keeps the evil (smoke monster) in- when the numbers leaked from the island a little evil made it's way in the world, and caused Hurley and others before him much grief. But there is evil in the world, so how much worse would the world be if Smokey escaped?

Who will be the new Jacob in the end? I had thought for awhile, Jack. But is Jack meant to sacrifice himself because he could never be happy in the real world? Could it be Hurley? Hurley has got to be important, right? It's never the ones you expect (I always new Neville Longbottom would be the key of "Harry Potter" especially when we found out that he could've been the chosen one by Voldemorte, but I digress....)

Have you realized that Jack and Flocke haven't met yet? The relationship and the dynamic between Jack (the man of science) and Locke (the man of faith) is so integral to the show. What will happen when they meet?

Taweret- the statue. So we now know that the Black Rock wiped out Taweret, the Egyptian goddess of birth, rebirth and the northern sky (random). That's why all that's left of her is her four-toed foot. According to Jonathan, this must be the reason why women can not get pregnant and children can not be born on the island! Perhaps, perhaps.....I have also been wondering if Jacob prevented pregnancies/births as to prevent the Smoke Monster from inhabiting bodies and souls.

Who's locked up in Widmore's sub? His lovely son-in-law Des perhaps? Wouldn't that make you happy Josie:)?

If the island is gateway to hell- shouldn't we maybe see if Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Scooby gang are available to come take care of this? I think Sarah Michelle Gellar might be looking for some work....Stacey get on that, ok?

Anyone know where my post title comes from?????

What the Hell.....?

(***In an effort to be better about posting- I am writing this and watching the episode simultaneously)

No, not "What the Helen" the reality show that I live everyday or as Lisa says, "Who the Hell is Helen", but HELL.

Really. It can't be. This long awaited back story of pretty eyes Richard starts with him telling the final candidates of Jacob that they are all dead, and the island is hell! The last few weeks I've been reading spoilers on my various sites that were pointing to the significance of the island being a "four letter word". I was trying to dance around these spoilers because I really didn't want to figure them out. I've been one of those people from Season 1 who was refusing to accept that this could all be purgatory or hell. I frankly believe that we all deserve more than that!

With Richard's kind of exotic quality I expected a back story from Ancient Egypt. But instead he's from the Canary Islands. Ok. He ended up in jail after accidentally killing a rich doctor who wouldn't come out to save his dying wife. Sad. He has always seemed conflicted. A great priest who wouldn't forgive him for his sins. A nice message to play during Lent.

He's "luckily" plucked out of prison to go on a ship to the "new world". (Which by 1865 I'm sure they were calling the Americas or North America) Off he goes on the Black Rock. And the rest we know if history. (shout out to the Hansos)

Did the captain have the sickness? is that why he was running his sword through everyone?

Smoke monster comes- judges and leaves him??? Porque? and ugh an episode filled with Spanish subtitles- that's one Romance language I didn't study.

Is it me or does the man in black kind of look like a thinner cleaned up Richard Hatch?

I feel like we are really being played over who is bad and who is good? who do we believe? I'm sure Richard was confused? and Ben? I feel like I got some answers- and I'm buying into this "cork" thing. A ha, CORK not HELL. Jacob needs to keep the Smoke Monster on the island, or hell will be unleashed.

(PS-I totally called Hurley talking to the dead wife- Spanish and all.)

It's just a little show about a plane crash......................or obviously much, much more

Conning a con (and some recon)

I think this was my favorite sideways life yet! Sawyer is the opposite of himself in so many ways; he's not a con man, he is "the law". Miles, who we came to love as LaFleur's trust right hand man at New Otherton, is indeed his partner in L.A.P.D. What remains the same is that James Ford is still looking for "Sawyer" and he may have some commitment issues. Loved Dr. Charlotte Lewis popping up. I love that Miles set them up as she worked with "his dad" (Dr. Marvin Candle, aka Dr. Pierre Chang) I think most people assumed/hoped that Juliet would show up in Sawyer's sideways. I think this might be more proof that she will end up as the mother of David Shepherd. But I predict that she and Sawyer will meet again.....

The Smoke Monster's followers are strange group. Sayid looks so out of it- what's his deal? We knew it was only a matter of time before Claire attacked Kate- but how about Faux Locke's reaction? Slapping her silly! There is definitely some deep stuff to discuss in Smokey's discussion of Aaron now having a "crazy mom" and how " a long time ago" he had a crazy mom too. Now real Locke's mom was in the loony bin, but Smokey had a mom? How long ago was that?

What did you think of Faux Locke sending Sawyer off to do recon? Did he really want him to bring back information? Did he expect him to be killed by whomever was over there? I know that many of you were probably not happy with the introduction of Zoe. ( I could almost hear you Mon saying, "no more newbies!". We knew Widmore was coming- and don't forget that he told real Locke last year that "war was coming to the island".

Me thinks that war has arrived.

Dr.Linus, I presume...

Did you love this Ben-centric episode?

I definitely did- and not just because AP Modern European History was my FAVORITE class of high school. (I wonder what dear Miss Horn is up to these days....some of you will know this, "Take out this document...."

Alex Rousseau seemed to be pretty lucky to have Dr. Linus as a teacher. I think Dr. Linus would've been a pretty cool teacher, a la our friend Dr. Ryan at RMHS! I'm sure Dr. Linus would sing national anthems in foreign languages and support the History Club.

How interesting that in Ben's Sideways, his "Roger Workman" dad is still alive and they seem to have a pretty good relationship. What blew my mind of course was the fact that they HAD been part of the DHARMA initiative and had LEFT the island? Woah-hmmmmm.......

Ben tries to blackmail the principal- no good. He does however get Alex her Yale recommendation. Island Ben tries to escape- only to find that Ilana (and Jacob) will forgive him. Ben Linus finds redemption, off and on the island.

Oh and don't forget the Jack, Hurley and Richard's escapade at the Black Rock. Jack suddenly is a man of faith.

The best part of the episode- Charles Widmore and his submarine arriving back at the island! Geez, what is it about this island that keeps pulling everyone back.

Periscope down, Mr. Widmore.

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting...

I had planned to write a witty post (oh, four or five days ago) about this episode and the fabulous fight scene between Sayid and Dogen....and I've somehow run out of time because it's t-minus 67 minutes till a new episode.

So what did you think? Especially the end? Sayid is bad and always will be- someone I talked to in the past week pointed out that Sayid has always worn black since the beginning and Jack is most often wearing a white shirt. ? Significant? That Last Supper I posted way back too- are most of the people at the end of this episode, who are now with Locke- are sitting to his right (our left)- except Alana- she's the Wild Card.

The Keamy twist was a good one- I almost didn't recongnize him. Sayid took care of him in one swoop! How about Jin in the freezer?

I don't think I even had time in the past week to read all of Doc Jensen's thoughts at EW- that tells you how crazed I am. One tidbit I found that I thought was funny- Terry O'Quinn (Locke) was referring to his new self as- Puffy :)

Namaste
