"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale..."

Apparently a tale of Burt Reynold's movies- classic! Frank Lapidus in "Smokey and the Bandit"

It seems it is the consensus of many out there in the world of the interweb that "The Last Recruit" was a filler episode. A filler episode filled with some interesting tid bits, zingers, and a path of where things may be headed.

Right off the bat- the camps merge, and it's time for Jack and FLocke to come face to face. (Suddenly Hurley doesn't feel as important- maybe he's fulfilled his purpose. Ruh, roh! Also, Hurley told Claire she looked "great". Really Hurley, have you seen that bee's nest on her head?) FLocke immediately mocks his Locke- how he was "stupid enough to think he was brought here for a reason"! I still go back to that very early episode where Locke came face to face with the "monster", or when the monster tried to drag him down the hole near the temple. Has Smokey been after him for awhile?

Jack seems strangely at peace. While on the Elizabeth, he realized he had to go back. He didn't make anyone else follow him. He just went. As the new man of faith, he knows the island isn't done with him. He has come full circle. Is he ready to be the new Jacob?

Confirmation that Christian was the Smoke Monster, which only makes sense. The Shack is where Jacob was supposed to live, where Ben went to "speak" with Jacob and took Locke there. But it wasn't ever Jacob. Wasn't the volcanic ash line around the shack "broken"? There are those who are saying that Smokey is a liar and how can we believe him. Christian appeared to Jack off the island as well. Maybe Smokey can project himself (a la Walt) or maybe it was just a vision of his dad, but I'm inclined to believe that the Christian we've seen on the island was in fact Smokey. If I'm wrong....I will....something. You can tell me.

All worlds come together at the hospital (like "General Hospital")- Sun who was shot recognizes Locke, Jack is called in to operate on Locke- will he fix him this time?
So sweet to see Jack and his son, David. Much debate was had at Lisa's house over David's mother and whether we will see her. I believe we will meet her- and she will be Juliet. And before the end of the series, Juliet will run into Sawyer and have their coffee shop date (I think that might be where Des and Penny are scheduled to meet up)

Kate seems like such a useless character this whole season. (I know many of you are not Kate fans.) How peculiar that she was able to get Claire on that boat? Will Claire actually be able to be reunited with Aaron?

Hey, where is Richard? Running crazy-eyed all around the jungle? Is Des still at the bottom of that well? Did Zombie Sayid do him in?

Oh- and finally, finally, after what seems like five seasons- Sun and Jin are finally together again! Will it last? Will they both survive the coming war?

Do you all know the big finale is two hours on SUNDAY, May 23rd? Who's taking Monday the 24th off :) ?

Like all "losties" I have been wanting to find out answers to the island's many secrets. But I have been a little sad with the way the answers have been given. Like this week where we learned, for sure, that the Smoke Monster has taken the form of other dead people on the island (aka. Christian). Asked and answered with little more than a "yes". No build up or vagueness. Don't get me wrong, I love this show!! I just wish the writers were keeping the intrigue a little by answering in a more mysterious and anticipation-filled way.

I have been going back to watch old Smoke Monster episodes to see where he has judged and taken or denied those who are worthy (or shall we say dark in nature). Locke asked Mr. Eko what he saw when he faced the Smoke. Locke admitted he saw a bright light. Mr. Eko simply replied, "That is not what I saw." That is the intrigue and anticipation that I miss.

Perfect - are you doing a Lost viewing party? I can come and then a few days later I can give birth. :)
